My sincere sympathy to the entire family as you mourn Gerrit's passing. May God grant you all peace and comfort. You can even rejoice in the knowledge that, as Zeph 3:17 says, God is rejoicing over Gerrit with gladness. He will renew him in His love; He will exult over him with loud singing as on a day of festival.

I am saddened to hear of Gerry's passing. I remember him always willing to chat with a smile on his face. Not only would he work at Broadway Gardens all day but then he would spend hours in his gardens as he and Margaret were great neighbours to Harry and I and we saw each other in our back yard often. He could work longer and harder than I could although he was older. He was a special man as well as you Margaret, Harry, Jerri and Theresa are.

My sincere condolensces to the family. Mr & Mrs Moes entrusted me with one of the best babysitting jobs ever and a planting job in the greenhouse one year. I am honoured to have had such a person in my childhood. He was a very good man who loved and cherished his children.

Mr. Moes was fond of the annual plant - portulaca. Last year I noticed that he had planted an entire flower bed in the front area of Brookview with portulaca. As the summer progressed it became an amazing carpet of colour, a delight to behold. Although I live in a different section of Pleasant Manor I tried to walk just to see that carpet. I am also a fan of portulaca, admired his planting and will think of him whenever I walk there. Thanks, with sympathy to the family from Ingrid Regier (Garden Court)

Rob, Please accept our deepest sympathy for your loss. I never met your father, but having known you in school and over the years, I realize that to raise a family as wonderful as yours, takes very committed and loving parents. I am sure your father continues to watch over his family now from heaven. Paul McDonnell and Family

Although Jo-ann and I moved to Simcoe to start my career with the OPP in 1973, we have many pleasant memories of our church "Reformed Church" and all the people we worshipped with. He was a wonderful kind gentleman, and always had a smile on his face. Our condolences to the entire family, and pray that our Lord may give you peace during this difficult time

Tante Gre,Harry-Marge,Jerry-Carol,Rob-Evelyn,Theresa-Alfred,grandkids and great grandkids.I want to give you guys my heartfelt condolences on the passing of Oma Gerrit. I’m forever grateful to him for instilling in me a strong work ethic at a very early age. My first paying job at the age of 10,working at Broadway, filling flats with soil, transplanting seedlings, etc. And on the flip side showing us how to have fun on days off by going to Jones beach and teaching us how to water ski.Great times. Also going up north and Christmas at the original homestead on Broadway. Oma Gerrit left a great legacy behind. FAMILY. A million plants - a million moosies. Al Moes.

So very sorry to all the family. I have wonderful childhood and adult memories of travelling with Gerrit and Gre to Florida and to the cottage in Lakefield and even to Barbados. And also spending time at Broadway Gardens, and boating on Lake Ontario and in fact, it was the first time I was able to water ski. You all are forever in my thoughts and prayers. So sad we cannot get together right now....
