Memorial for Victor Dick

On Monday, June 15, 2020, Victor Dick was welcomed into the arms of his Savior as he passed away under the care of the wonderful 4^th floor Tabor Manor Staff.

December 9, 1936, Victor Jacob Dick entered the world in St. Catharines, Ontario to parents Jacob and Annie Dick.    Along with his sisters Elma (John) Klassen and Irma (Al) Dafoe, they grew up in a God loving, family centered home.

April 19, 1958 his life went from good to great with the marriage to his sweetheart, Erna.  Children Audrey (Gord) Unger, Brad (Julianne) Dick, Wayne and Steve (Regina) Dick would follow.  With four children, 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, family was always important to Victor. Dad and Papa, were really important family and will be missed.

For over 30 years working faithfully… or going to work faithfully, Victor was employed at General Motors and worked with a great crew.  But his work allowed him the opportunity to live the life he and Erna wanted.  Great memories of camping and road trips as a family were surpassed only by trips with Erna to warm destinations and becoming “Mariners” with over 100 days “cruising”.

Victor’s life was also full of service.  Christian Service Brigade (boys club), Camp Crossroads, MCC, SOWERS and the Lions Club composed over 50 years of volunteer service in his love for people and love for God.

He also served as usher and greeter for decades in Orchard Park Bible Church and Fairview MB Church.  You could never slip by Victor getting into church without a warm greeting and a smile.

He was loving people until the very end and until his final breath.

I have fought a good fight,

I have finished the course

I have kept the faith.

The family is grateful to the staff of Tabor Manor, 4^th floor for taking care of Vic while we could not.  You supported and encouraged him as this dreadful disease took control of him – and now he’s healed and in the presence of Jesus.

Victor is predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Annie and his daughter Caroline (1964).

He is loved by many, will be missed by all, but is finally at rest.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to MCC or Camp Crossroads.

A private ceremony will be held and prayers are appreciated.
