Obituary of Helen Bryk
Bryk, Helen (nee Raczka) – It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Helen in the early hours of June 17, 2020. Helen passed in her 95th year from natural causes at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton.
Loving wife of Daniel for 76 years, proud mother of Lucille Matias (Raymond) and Ray Bryk (predeceased). Devoted grandmother of Paula Bryk, Martin Bryk and Davina Zahra. Predeceased by sister Sophie Bryk and survived by sister Alice Bilkszto plus many nieces and nephews.
Helen’s early years were spent working alongside her family on a fruit and vegetable farm in Jordan Valley, and she continued this tradition until she retired at age 79 when her son passed away.
She always eagerly awaited tasting the first cherries of the season. Her passion for farming lasted all of her life and now her granddaughter carries on this tradition. Helen sang in the Polish Symphonia Choir for 30 years and was a proud member of Hamilton’s Polish community. She loved to express her creativity with oil painting.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday June 23, 2020 at the Vineland Chapel of Tallman Funeral Homes, 3277 King St., Vineland from 9:30 – 10:30am. A private service will follow with interment at Vineland Cemetery. Masks are now required when entering the funeral home.
