Some 40 years ago I had the pleasure of meeting "Mother Goose" at Lockview School were she taught my children. Every year on my Christmas tree I hang the 3 beautiful little angles that she made using my children's school pictures for that year. She was so kind, gentle, thoughtful, and loving to all her "Ducklings". A favourite teacher I am sure to all that had the good fortune to be in her classroom. The Mothers Day event she had for Mom's and Grandma's was another memorable day.
Condolences to all her Family and Friends. Sincerely Susan Rutledge..

Val was the most amazing lady. I had the pleasure of knowing her for 27 plus years. I will never forget her gardening, while wearing her little white rubber boots and her colourful sun bonnet!! We had the pleasure of enjoying her beautiful gardens and roses, and her baked goods. Being as I don't really have a green thumb, she was thrilled to hear that we'd planted tomatoes this year! She always asked how they were coming. Jim thought the world of her. He was thrilled with their long chats about her childhood and family history. She was always Miss Valentina to him and she called him "brother Jim". She was an absolute TREASURE....so knowledgeable, yet so genuinely humble....always there with wonderful words of wisdom....we will miss her so much....
Love you Val.

For 31 years my husband Gary MINSHULL who passed last September and I, Lynn, had the joy and privilege of living across the street from this amazing woman. We grew to love her and Dan over the years.
When she moved last year it was a very sad time to see her go, but it was time. I still went to visit her and chatted on the phone. Kathy Norton and I were so grateful we had a visit with her just a few days before she passed. An amazing lady and we loved her so very much. ❤️❤️❤️

I knew Val from Tabor Manor, while Dan resided there. I spoke with her often. She knew my dad who was her mechanic in Virgil, his name was Henry Wichert. We talked about gardening and she would invite me over to come see her gardens and we could have tea. I never did make it there and for that I am especially sad. And now she is with Jesus. I will meet you in heaven and we can talk about gardening there Val. My condolences to her family. She always had a smile on her face.
