We were saddened to hear of the death of Patti Wiebe. We have known Patti and Ben and their three children since the '80's at least when both our families lived in the Hamilton area. We have been with them at New Year's Eve celebrations at the Harold and Sharon Ellises of Oakville until just a few years ago. We found Patti to be always a cheerful friendly person and we share the loss in this life with Ben and his family.

Dear Ben and family,
Please accept my apologies for a late note... So sorry to learn of Patti's passing. However, the victory has been won!
I believe that I can also speak for Murray Smith and my mother Ina, when I say how much we all enjoyed the "family times" with the Wiebes over the years. Patti was always a bright light in the group. We will miss her...
You all will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. Please take good care of yourselves and God bless you richly,
Cyndy Allcock

We were very sorry to hear of the loss of Patti and the sadness the family is going through at this time. Our family was privileged to share many years with Patti, Ben, their children and grandchildren as part of our Stoney Creek church family. Patti was a wonderful, caring and hard working person who will be missed by all who knew her. She shared the love of Christ all her life and we can all take comfort in knowing that she is with our Lord and Savior.

My condolences to the entire Wiebe family. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I had the pleasure of working with Patti at McMaster University in 1992 when I was a teaching assistant. Almost 30 years later I still remember what a very nice, kind, happy caring and helpful person she was. May God bless her always!

Dear Ben, we're so sad to know about the passing away of Patti. I read about her leukemia in the FB and lately her coming home from hospital as she was not responding to treatment anymore. I just didn't know how to respond to that news, except pray for her. No words can console you for your loss of the dearest one. May our Lord give you the strength and comfort. She has been promoted to glory and joy for ever.

I grew up with Patti in high school at Earth. We had loads of fun going to the sand hills in Muleshoe. She was dating my best friend Bobby Sloan. I kept up with Patti and Ben and was able to see her at the class reunions. I know Patti loved the Lord and will be loved dearly in heaven.

Patti was a Texas girl in western Canada when we met her and Ben in Edmonton. She was always precious and sweet, in person and on social media. And now she’s home, and we couldn’t be happier for her. But the hole in our world is huge.

It was a joy and a privilege to work with Patti in the Marketing and International Business department of DeGroote School of Business. It was the first time that I ever heard of Lubbock, TX, which I later learned was the birthplace of Buddy Holly. Patti was a steadfast colleague, grounded and reliable, with a good sense of humour, grace and a loving sweetness. She was so proud of Ben and her children. Wendy and I extend our sincere sympathy and love to all the Wiebe family and hope that during this sad time you find comfort in happy memories of your dear Pattie.

Patti will be greatly missed! I enjoyed many nights playing games of “hand and foot” (still can’t quite get the rules!) and Sequence when we were blessed to have you as house guests! We also enjoyed many laughs and great conversations! I love you, Patti, and take comfort knowing you are in the arms of Jesus!

I had the pleasure of working with Patti at McMaster. We were walking buddies and exercised at lunch times. Patti was a very kind and considerate friend. We kept in touch on facebook and I only recently shared a lovely email with her. Patti expressed how wonderful it is to have friends and I'm sure she had many. What wonderful memories they must all have of her. My condolences to her family. Hugs

Patti was a remarkable person. She was was loving, caring, and considerate to all she met. She loved her Lord; and had the heart of a servant. We enjoyed being with her and Ben on various occasions and always looked forrward to seeing them. We were sorry to hear of her illness and are certainly saddened at her passing. At the same time, we rejoice that her suffering is now past; and that she enjoys rest and peace and freedom from her leukemia. She will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ben and all the family. May God bless you all.

Patti was simply one of the best people I’ve ever met. Her sterling character, concern for others and fundamental goodness was always evident in her interactions with everyone. I worked with Patti for 27 years at McMaster University and each day was a pleasure. On her first day at McMaster, she introduced herself as “A Mann from Earth” and I’ll always associate that little joke with Patti. She is a big loss to me and I’m sure to everyone she met. My wife, Barbara, and I send all our condolences to Ben and her children, grandchildren and friends. Ken and Barbara Deal

Dave and I send our sincere condolences to Ben and to this amazing family.
While I have known and admired Patti from our days at ACU, Dave and I have only recently become really close with Ben and Patti. They reached out to us with their well known hospitality about 5 years ago and we have become the best of friends from that time on. We have enjoyed many heart felt religious discussions, many just really fun times, and many sharing of books. Patti was the truest kind of friend and we will miss her bright life in our lives. However, the memory of her bright, fun loving nature will forever be a wonderful memory. How sweet it is to find new friends in our senior years. We will cherish our memories of Patti until we meet again. With love, Dave and Loraine Carruthers

Patti was one of the first people to welcome me to Stony Creek Church of Christ. I love her Texas as I called it twang. When she talked it reminded me of chimes. She always had a loving smile on her face and a big hug. She sang like an angel. I will always remember her. My sister in Christ. Earths loss but Heavens gain. To her family trust and know you will see her again.
