Obituary of Allan Isban Kulawic
Kulawic, Allan Isban - It is with heavy hearts we say goodbye to our superhero Allan, who passed away suddenly at Hamilton General Hospital on Friday August 21st 2020 with family by his side.
Allan is survived by the love of his life Yvonne (O’Gorman) and his two daughters Sarah (Alex) and Rachel (Jason). Allan will also be greatly missed by his father Walter, sisters Kelly and Amy, Pauline O’Gorman, Helen and Kevin Yule and his many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased in death by his mother Carol Kulawic, grandparents Don and Audrey Yule and Cassandra and John Kulawic and Jack O’Gorman.
Allan grew up in Jordan Station and attended Beamsville Secondary Highschool where he met Yvonne when he was 16 years old. Allan was an active athlete, hockey goalie, fastball catcher and cross country runner meeting many lifelong friends along the way. After highschool, Allan joined the Canadian Armed Forces with pride that he carried with him throughout his life.
Allan and Yvonne were happily married in 1987 and shortly after, Allan began to develop various health issues and obstacles including Multiple Sclerosis. For anyone who knew Allan is to know his incredible sense of humour, his kind heart and that he was a warrior who battled MS throughout his entire life with nothing but a smile on his face with Yvonne, Sarah and Rachel by his side.
We would like to thank the staff at the United Mennonite Home who became Allan's second family, who showed him nothing but love and friendship. We would also like to thank the many doctors and nurses at St Catharines General Hospital and Hamilton General Hospital who fought endlessly for Allan throughout his battle. A special thank you to each and every person who has supported our family throughout the years, surrounding us with love and support giving us so much of the strength we carry with us today.
What do superheroes do
When their regeneration goes stagnant?
When their super strength fails?
When their durability weakens?
What do superhero’s do
When their immortality ceases?
When their energy fades?
When their fight is lost?
Superheroes live on
In the hearts of those they fought for
In the world they leave behind
With memories of powers
That go above and beyond the mortal
Beyond any imaginable human capability
But tell me because I’m lost
What do sidekicks do
When their superheroes depart ?
