To a good friend and cousin Gerry...
Gerry and I had many meaningful conversations together, during which he didn't mince words! You always knew exactly where you were at with him. Usually the exchange would end with a comment about how fortunate we both were because of who we married and the wonderful families we then became part of. He never took this for granted but considered it life-changing.
His love for Ruth and her extended family was so evident. His face lit right up in the company of all those cousins! Then, when an occasion was over, we'd slap each other on the shoulder and say, " 'Atta boy - see you next time, Cousin!"
I (we) will always miss you, Gerry!
Love, Dick (and Marlene) Heidebrecht
... And no, the girls will never stop talking!

Gerry was truly a family member of the Glanville family, and his extended Florida family. While I was coaching in the CFL we became even closer and lived through the highs and lows of the season. He will be missed and our way in Florida will not be the same . The first words he heard from God , “welcome home “. Gerry we are all sad but happy we had our time with you, love Jerry Glanville,

We are so sad to hear of Gerry's passing. He was our next door neighbour and family friend for over a decade, 'Uncle Gerry' to the kids, always available for a chat over the fence, a joke on the driveway, or a good-natured rant on the front lawn.
Gerry and I also spent a fair bit of time talking about how fortunate two reprobates like us were to have such amazing, supportive, wonderful wives. We were both blessed beyond measure to have such wonderful life partners, and we teased one another regularly about how neither of us deserved our respective better half. Ruth, I'm sure you know how high Gerry's regard was for you, in every way. And it is clear to everyone who knows you that your love, devotion, and endless good humour carried him through both the good times and the difficult times you have shared.
Gerry was a true original, and we will miss him very much.
With deepest sympathies but joy in his memory,
Dave, Sai, Maple and Emily Brown
