We are so sorry to hear that Tom has passed away. They were our neighbors in Beamsville. We certainly had fun chatting, partying & telling jokes. We will miss him. Condolences to Una and the family. Hugs, Debbie & Bob Daigle

So sorry to hear that Tom has passed away. He and Una were great neighbours in our tightly knit group in Mountainview's Plateau Ridge in Beamsville. Tom was always up for a good time and I know he will be sorely missed by Una and his whole family and the many friends he leaves behind. Our sincere condolences from Kathy and Barry Laing

We met Tom and Una when they moved back from Scotland and moved onto Ashby Drive in Beamsville. We had just moved to Beamsville from Burlington and it was so nice to meet Tom and Una. We had some good times together, Tom was always ready for a party. One New Year’s Eve they had the party and Tom decided to make jello shooters to surprise us. Unfortunately, he used sugar free jello and they were awful. Tom was a devoted husband, Dad and grandfather. We have lost touch over the years but talked and thought about him and Una often. Sending hugs.

Our hearts go out to Una and family, Tom was a very strong and proud man.
We first met Tom and Una when they became our neighbor's in Smithville, after some time they decided to go back to Scotland but still stayed in touch.
We have shared many enjoyable times together as well as celebrating New Year's Eve's.
We were blessed to become such good friends we feel honoured to have known Tom he will be always in our thoughts and hearts
may God bless him and keep him safe.
Tom was a great friend a good Husband,Father and Grandfather.

Tom "is" a wonderful man whom Gary and I thought so much of. He was kind, caring, loved his family and friends and also "No Nonsense" about him. He was a true friend who we had so much respect for. He dealt with a TON of adversity with his continual battle of that horrendous disease called "cancer". We so admired his tenacity to carry onward and upward, even in so much pain and adversity. We can all learn by his continual wish to live. God bless Tom and all his family and devoted friends during this very difficult time in all of our lives, trying to digest his demise. Tom is now in God's capable hands and out of pain and misery--at last! Love to all,
Cheryl and Gary McGuire

When I was a teenager, I periodically needed to get away from home for a bit. The Gibson's lived in St. Catharines at the time and Tom worked in Mississauga. Every month or so on a Friday, Tom would pick me up after work so that I could spend the weekend with him, Craig, Ross, Una. So that meant Tom would drive 1.5 hours to get to work, work a full day, drive 30 min from work to Brampton, pick me up, drive another 2 hours home. That was if traffic was good. And traffic on the QEW on a Friday evening was never that good. After all that, I would spend the weekend at his house where I would proceed to spill Orange soda on his brand new white shag, wall to wall carpet.
He did this on the regular. I don't know if he did it just because Craig and I were friends, or if he recognized I needed to get away from tough home conditions every once in a while, or what? I just know he did it. The times I spent at the Gibson's were instrumental in showing me what it means to be a good husband, father and overall good man. I often wish I could live up to Tom's example, and find myself falling short. Tom is a good man, with a good heart. He passed away yesterday, but his heart still lives on.
Every time Tom saw me he would say in a dense Scottish brogue "Aaaaaallleeee! How are ya son!"
Did he know how much of a father figure he was to me?
I was glad my boys got to meet him.
Godspeed Tom.
You were a Goddamn golden rock star!
