The only day mom loved more than Christmas was her birthday!
Mom would always drop hints in the weeks before and enjoyed being spoiled. She really was a big kid at heart! This photo was taken during a visit to Belleville and a surprise second birthday celebration the year she turned 60. Such a beautiful smile!
Mom's favourite time of year was Christmas! It was our tradition to pick up Grandma Christmas morning @ 7am. The boys always waited for Grandma before opening stockings and gifts. Uncle Darryl came a bit later, and spending the day together was very special to us all.
Marie and I used to go to all the Elvis movies. She lived on 9th Street in New Toronto and I lived on 8th Street. She was a wonderful childhood friend. We did not visit often as adults but we always stayed in touch. Marie is the lady in the mauve dress at my wedding in 1967. May she rest in piece.
