I am Ann O"Shaughnessy Hewitt, a friend of Diane for many years. Like Diane, I had a career as a school teacher. We met in Soest Germany when we were teaching children whose fathers were in the Nato armed forces. Diane and I became good friends, and for many years we had great holidays together. When Diane registered at The University of Oregon in Eugene to get a Master's degree, it sounded like such a good idea to me that I obtained a leave of absence from the Halton School Board in Burlington to go along with Diane on a new adventure. We did get our Master's degrees, but we also had great times skiing in the Rockies and Western mountain ranges. When we returned to Canada we often visited each other. Diane was very patient with me on the golf course and tennis courts in summer, and in winter we downhill skied and cross-country skied . We also took some summer trips to far-off places. I am living in a retirement home in Burlington now. I'm glad that Diane was a part of my life.

To the family of Ms. Pappas.
My sisters and I were students of Ms. Pappas at Twin Lakes SS in ORILLIA.
Although she was a 'no nonsense' teacher she sure made us laugh. We loved going to her phys-ed class because we always knew she would make our day.
The last day of Grade 12 she went to McDonalds with a group of us for breakfast. We all ordered orange juice. She never questioned our choice of enhancement to the juice. But I can tell you, gym class seemed very difficult that day.
She was a wonderful teacher.
We send our condolences to the Pappas family.

Hello Judy and Family
It was an honour and a pleasure to teach with Diane at Twin Lakes SS. She was a professional as well as a committed and caring teacher.
She would volunteer to assist with lots of innovative
Ideas that our staff had. Diane always kept a positive attitude and a sense of humour.
I am thinking of you all at this sad time.
