Our deepest condolences to the family of Walter. He was such a sparkle whenever he visited us at Economy Plumbing to buy parts with his friend John to fix something at their beloved church on Parnell.
Years later I ran into him again at the Lindenhaus to where I had moved my Mom from Ottawa where he told me he was moving there to be with his daughter.
I wished him a wonderful time and had no idea he had moved back. It’s wonderful to read that he was so loved. He was a wonderful man as was his friend John who was my mom’s friend as well. He loved to chat and I always enjoyed listening to his stories.
He will be remembered as one of our favourite plumbing customers and a dear man, now in the arms of Jesus.
Rolly and Evelyn Morin

I was so sorry to hear about Onkel Walter's passing. I always enjoyed our visits to St. Catharines. He always was cheerful and made it fun for us young ones. My deepest sympathies to Harold, Eleanor and all the family. He was a faithful servant of God and an example for all of us and I am thankful for that.

My sympathies to the family what a sad loss but we are encouraged to know he is with the lord and in a better place. I have many great memories of Uncle Walter and the Witt family when they were living in Milwaukee. Uncle Walter had a great sense of humor and was always ready to share a funny story. I am reminded of a time when we were headed on vacation but the lights on our camper trailer weren't working properly, there he was under the trailer reworking the wiring.

I knew Walter as "Elli's dad", having known Elli for many years as a very dear and very special friend.
Walter lived together with Elli in his lovely "Opa suite" for nine years.. He enjoyed Elli's delicious home cooking, and relaxed into a daily routine with her. They attended church together regularly and spent time engaging in shared activities inside and outside the home. Elli found various jobs around the house that Walter was proud to take on and complete. She also encouraged Walter to enjoy the company of others, often inviting friends for visits. I had the pleasure of being included in a few such visits with Walter. He was always smiling and ready to engage in a nice chat over a hot cup of tea or a leisurely lunch. I will always remember Walter as a very sweet man, and it was a great blessing to know he was deeply loved and cared for by his family.
