Anne, Jamie & Veronica and Families- I was so sorry to hear about your Mom & Dad, but was also somehow pleased that they passed away so closely. It is hard not to think of them as one unit. Seymour was like another big brother to me when I was younger. I remember as a little girl, going to visit your parents in Toronto after they first got married. I liked Carole right from the start. Although we didn't see each other a lot as we all got older, I always knew I was welcome in their home "on the lane". They continued the tradition of welcoming everyone in the Beckett / Peagram family home. May they rest in peace and your lovely memories sustain you.

Our hearts are broken. We are blessed to have fond memories. When I look at the pictures posted of Seymour I smile.
My memories of Seymour are many. I feel I have known him a lifetime. We all lived "on the lane". Lifetime neighbors.
I remember throughout my childhood Seymour had a way with very few words to let me know he knew what I may be up to.
He would say "I got your number" Sandra and I would laugh and he would have a big grin. Seymour was always there. He was a constant. I remember his black lunch pail as he went off to work. He provided for his family and loved them all dearly. You could just tell how much he loved everyone. Kind, quiet, gentle and then a punchline that let you know he was listening. Seymour was my personal body guard when my parents went north for the weekend. When I would get home I would not go into my house alone. No matter how late I would go and get Seymour. He would get on his slippers and come with me to open the door. I would have him look under every bed, in every closet and behind every door. He entertained this ritual whenever I asked. When we both thought the coast was clear he would say "are you okay now" I would say yep. He would say "good night Sandra" and I would say see you tomorrow. I knew I would see him tomorrow. Words can't explain how connected we all were on the lane. Life was safe and good. Seymour was part of making it feel safe. Sometimes I was asked to join them for dinner at the Delta restaurant which was a super treat in those days. I am sure treating an extra kid to a cheeseburger platter and pop in those days was not always easy but I was invited. You see kindness and sharing was what the Peagram household was about. Many more memories come to mind and again I am smiling remembering Seymour's smile. If things were not going too well he would let me know that's how it goes, what can you do? Just matter of fact. Simply put. Calmly said. And I would feel better. Kind gentle sweet man.
I am happy for Seymour that he is resting beside the love of his life. There is no sentence that starts out with saying only Carole or only Seymour. We all say Carole and Seymour. One with the other. Carole and Seymour.
Sadly missed but always and forever in our hearts.
Rest peacefully and happily Seymour beside the love of your life.
Love Sandra
