Obituary of Anny Dyck
Anny Dyck - March 24, 1919- January 29, 2021.
We are sad to announce the passing of our beloved Omi, who died peacefully at home. Predeceased by her husband Alfred (1995) and son in law Steve Bereczky (2016).
Born in the Ukraine, and living through World War 2 in Nuremburg, Germany, Omi proved to be a fearless survivor. The family moved to Canada in 1957 and made their home here in St. Catharines. Left to celebrate her memories are children Erika Bereczky (Steve) and Ed Dyck (Moira), and grandchildren Mark Bereczky (Alison), Dana Walton (Jeff), and Chris Dyck (Christine). Much adored great grandmother to Natasha (Josh), Matthew, Brooke, Carter, Brandon and Megan.
Thank you to the amazing caregivers at Lindenhaus, and Nurse Barb, all of you were family to her. Thank you also to all of you who came to her 100th Birthday party! We celebrate Omi’s life and all the amazing stories, from her raisin bread to rollkuchen, from having a knack for winning card games to her love of pranks! Our family story is all the better because she was one of the main characters.
If you wish to make a donation to a charity of your choice, helping others is always appreciated, or simply help a neighbour or friend in her honour.
