Soon after meeting Joanne a little over a year ago, our Life Group endeavored to feed 60+ migrant workers one night. Joanne was in the middle of chemo, but didn't bat an eyelash to help in any way she could, and to advise us on protocol, amounts etc. It soon became our turn to provide her and Rick with meals as she was losing strength to be in her favourite place.. the kitchen, and that was daunting - to feed an accomplished cook! But she was always so gracious, kind and appreciative. Joanne taught me a lot about grace and patience in suffering this past year, that I hope has changed me. I am jealous that I only knew her for a year here on earth, but look forward to celebrating her life together with her family and lifelong friends when we are able, and even more so worshiping our Lord together with her in heaven someday soon.
