I am so sorry to hear of the recent passing of Carol. We shared frequent chats over the fence. My dogs certainly will miss her as well as she always took the time for a hello and a pat n the head. My heart goes out to you all missing your sister, cousin, aunt, and friend. Reading all Carol’s accomplishments and all that she gave and did the world will surely miss her .

There are no words that could take the pain away from the Penner family. Too much loss in such a short time. However the memories of Carol and the time she spent with family will always remain in your hearts as well as so many others. I will always remember looking across the circle of chairs of cousins, aunts, and uncles at our annual family picnics, and watching her through the corner of my eye laughing, smiling or making some kind of joke or small prank, similar to her father’s sense of humour, our uncle Ernie. She could bring a smile or laugh to anyone. Our condolences to you all during this difficult time. She will be missed.

I am sending my sincere condolences to the Penner family on the loss of both your beloved mother and your sister, Carol. I worked with Carol on the International Dual Diagnosis Certificate Programme at Brock University. Perhaps even more than this, I remember the fun that Carol and I had as co-conspirators arranging the adoption of a very cute puppy, handsome Charlie, who was a gift for a mutual friend. I also was happy to share her name, Carol, which means "Song of Joy." Her joyful approach to life was and will always be an inspiration.

I remember i looked forward to seeing carol, whenever i went to brock with my mom. I made sure to always go by her office and it always made my day better! Her smile would light the room, when she would stop what shes doing, ask my day was, and give me candy! It was always a highlight of going to the office to see her. I remember always asking my mom if 'Carol was in today?" My mom would smile and usually say yes, but on the odd occasion frown and say no. I would be always want to see because of how much she improved my day of just smiling and laughing!

I knew Carol from Brock University. She was part of my Brock as we started near the same time and I always respected and honoured Carol's demeanour, dedication, and most of all, our conversations throughout the years. And that smile! I loved her smile. I admired Carol much and treasure the memories of our conversations and in hearing the stories, even more so now. I can only wonder at the shock as family and close friends you must feel, if I from more of a distance, still cannot fathom Carol not being here anymore. My heartfelt prayers of comfort and encouragement are with you all.

Carol was my treasured friend and colleague in the Department of Child and Youth Studies at Brock University. She had amazing administrative skills and knowledge on which I relied for the many years we worked together. Her good humour and unfailing caring for the wellbeing of our students and colleagues brightened our lives. It is very difficult, and painful, to think about Brock without Carol. Heaven has gained a joyful chorister. I send my sympathies to her loving family.

What a wonderful tribute to a live so well lived. What a legacy your dear sister leaves behind.
Although I was, to say the least, shocked to hear this very sad news.
May it be of comfort to know that Carol is with the one she cared for and loved so much -- her Mom.
How proud I am to know that these incredible people are my relatives.
My sincerest condolences to your entire family on this very unexpected loss.
May the Great Comforter be very near to you all.
Know that you are in my prayers for strength and solace for the days ahead.

Carol, I will miss you so much my dear friend. You have always been there for me. I will cherish the memories. Making snow angels in our pajamas at 1am. Sitting and talking for hours while everyone else slept. Being the cherished "Aunt" Carol to my children and grandchildren. I wish we had more time to do the trips we had planned. I love you.❤

Mom was pretty devastated by this news as she really got to know and enjoy Carol these past couple of years since she was always there whenever she visited your mom and she so appreciated it. The whole Steingart family wish to express our deepest sympathies with this terrible news, especially after following so close after Aunt Betty's passing. We are all thinking and praying for your whole family. She got her hearty laugh from Aunt Betty!
