Petronella (Nel) Vander Mey
Dec. 13, 1925 – Feb. 22, 2021

Vander Mey, Petronella Jannetje (Nel) (nee Kralt) of Shalom Manor, Grimsby, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 22, 2021, at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late Jan Vander Mey (1986) and mother of John & Gerri Vander Mey, Janet & Hans Kralt, the late Peter (2013) & Wilma Vander Mey, Jake & Jo-Anne Vander Mey, Margaret & PJ Vermeer and Annie & Mike Oegema.  Cherished Oma of 22 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren and much loved Tante Nel to her nephews and nieces.  She was also predeceased by grandson Geoffery (1982) and great grandson Benjamin (2008).   
 

Nel was born in Rijnsburg, Holland on Dec. 13, 1925 to the late Pieter and Jannetje (nee Vianen) Kralt.  She was an accomplished seamstress, a jar of her peanut cookies sold for hundreds of dollars at the Christian school fundraising auction, and she had the gift of creating memories with her grandchildren.  She was a member of Providence Christian Reformed Church and through the ups and downs of life and the challenges of being human, her Saviour Jesus was the rock she built her life on.
