I got to know Peter mainly at the curling club. There was never a dull moment when he was present. It was a joy to curl with him and also against him.
The memories of him are all pleasant ones . I will (and others) will miss him at curling.
May our good Lord be with the Neufeld family.

My condolences to the Neufeld Family. 40 years ago he was Principal to a group of great teachers at James Morden that made an impact. I share his love of music to this day and have reminisced many times with friends I still keep in touch with. Thanks Mr Neufeld.

The last visit with your Dad (and Mom) was for breakfast at the Golf Club in Niagara on the Lake. Probably three years ago. We hadn't seen each other in several years and it was a fest of the joys of a Neufeld catching up session. Much like a sporting event and equally as enjoyable.

To Laura and the entire Neufeld Family ... Where do you begin to express the gratitude, the countless fond memories/experiences and the effectiveness and impact of Peter Neufeld’s life on countless students and staff members throughout 34 years of being an excellent educator, mentor, principal and to me personally – so very much more?
Words cannot - nor will they ever express to the entire 'Neufeld Family' the deep respect, high regard, admiration and dare I say love that will be evoked by his past students and staff in our collective ‘memories’ with the loss of Peter Neufeld.
Peter’s gifts of sheer joy and the love of life has been instilled in copious heart’s and spirit’s throughout his life in this earthly dimension and is etched on the hearts of many a former student and staff member.
Your purpose to give away your many gifts (stories, laughter, music and love for your fellow travelers to name a few) to family, friends, colleagues and anyone who had the honour and privilege to cross your path has been fulfilled Peter. Your contributions to making this world a better place because you have lived will be your legacy for many years to come.
R.I.P. Peter – (Matthew 25:23) ‘His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things.'
Come and share your master’s happiness!’’
Not, how did he die, but how did he live?
Not, what did he gain, but what did he give?
These are the units to measure the worth
Of a man as a man, regardless of his birth.
Nor what was his church, nor what was his creed?
But had he befriended those really in need?
Was he ever ready, with words of good cheer,
To bring back a smile, to banish a tear?
Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say,
But how many were sorry when he passed away?

To the Neufeld Family: Many years ago I was a student at James Morden while Mr. Neufeld was the principal. I will always remember his love of music and singing, our participation in the annual Kiwanis Music Festivals and the musicals we would perform as a school every other year. What a lovely legacy he leaves in his family and reminder that, no matter his humble beginnings, he made the most of his life and gifts.

Peter claimed me on waivers I would tell those who asked how I got to teach at James Morden when the Niagara South Board of Education set about eliminating Senior Public Schools. I am forever grateful to Peter for that. A positive, engaged and supportive principal was Peter ever concerned about the students under his leadership. Peter, I have a dentist appointment tomorrow afternoon and need a supply. No problem Peter would reply. I'll take your class. What are you scheduled to teach? Oh. No. Don't worry I have something I would like to do. Peter never shied away from teaching the children when the opportunity presented itself. Thank you Peter.

Peter was my Teaching Advisor back in 1993. I learned from the best. He was always extremely supportive and provided me with a toolkit of what was really important in education. He was an exceptional mentor to me and now I am in my 26th year of teaching. He was truly one of the good guys. He will be missed. God Bless

All through the years I have often thought of him very fondly. I always said anyone that could teach me was very special. Please know that you have my heartfelt condolences. I was just speaking with Canon Jim Powell who I know they sang together in the Chorus. Much love and respect Sandra Bird

We will miss Peter’s infectious laughter and his love of life. Peter made things happen for friends, arranging for breakfasts out at his favourite restaurants, picnics on the river, time spent on the deck enjoying Laura’s beautiful gardens, just giving us time to enjoy each other. His golfing buddies will miss his Sunday texts which included the best days to golf that week according to the weather, which course to choose, tee times, and of course making sure the driving arrangements were made. Like others we were regaled by Peter’s many stories , while knowing some of the details changed with the retelling. Part of our enjoyment was seeing his apparent pleasure while “ holding forth” . We will miss those happy chuckles. So many memories for us and Peter’s loving family to carry with them .

An uncle, Sunday school teacher, choir director... forever smiling and laughing in all he did!! I think what I remember the most was how much he loved and adored Aunt Laura❤️! I remember as a kid when she would sing in church and he would just swell with pride at her beautiful singing voice... and on occasion, he would join her! Memories I cherish. Laughter, stories & music.
Working on the farm was easier the days Peter came, the fastest cherry picker making us laugh while trying to keep up just to stay on the same tree.
He always had a good story to share , so much knowledge.
