Obituary of Sylvia Golecki
Golecki, Sylvia
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our “beautiful lady.” Sylvia passed away peacefully at the United Mennonite Home in Vineland Tuesday May 11th, 2021 in her 80thyear.
Sylvia was born May 18th, 1941 in Brampton, Ontario. Her parents had immigrated from Finland and Poland and the family settled in Jordan Station.
Sylvia had a strength and determination that left the fondest impression on those who knew her well. Sylvia was clear, direct and to the point and people loved that about her. She knew what she liked and “cheap hamburgers” were one of her favorites. Sylvia enjoyed the beautiful things life gifts to us, puppies, kittens, beautiful babies, flowers. Sylvia often purchased cards with images of those things, presenting them to those she loved.
Sylvia was a hard worker, she enjoyed her leisure time as well. Sylvia played BINGO, enjoyed the Pen Centre mall and visiting the animals at the Humane Society.
Sylvia will be missed by the many people in her life, Ken and Erli Sherk, many staff and companions at Bethesda Homes as well as those she knew at the United Mennonite Home.
A private internment will take place at OakLawn Cemetary in Jordan, where Sylvia will rest with her late father.
