Edith will be missed at the St. Helen Church Bingo. She always brought humour and cheer to our Bingo family even when struggling with Don or her own health issues. She brought in her unique treasures and gadgets asking if we knew what they were. She loved to share candy and sweets on special occasions and sometimes when there was no occasion...just because. We have lost a dear friend but heaven has a new awesome angel with a twinkle in her eye and a heart of gold. Our sincere condolences to all her friends and family.

At first it was Edie, then I had a daughter and she called her OMA. so I started calling her Oma as well. She wasn’t blood, but she treated me and my family like we were. Her and my mom were best friends. So many great memories at Don & Edie’s. Ice skating on the pond, the swamp buggy, Easter egg hunts, birthdays, baby showers, the annual Christmas Eve party at the legion. Playing rumoli. The list of fun goes on and on. She was a warm, caring Oma with a heart of gold. She was one in a million. You will be missed Oma. Heaven certainly gained a angel.
Love you and miss you, Lori & Madyson. Xoxo

--Edith and family lived across the road from us about where the Missions Thrift Store is now located on old Prudhomme property, We had many good times playing together with the whole Appel gang. About the only negative, I could think of is when Mrs, Appel made her big barrels of sauerkraut and they sat out on the front porch for all in the area to enjoy the aroma. We will meet again Edith at the big Garage Sale in Heaven

Mrs. Jones was my neighbour. I would remember her yelling her dogs name every time he wandered over to our house and I’d bring him back and we would sit and talk. All the costumes she lent us over the years for school dress up days and when our cat snuck to her house to have a litter of kittens she let us sit in her shed to tend to them. She would always invite us over for cookies, and I’ll never forget her kind soul. I wish I could have said goodbye but the last time we spoke she knew how much of an impact she left in mine and my sisters hearts. We will miss her dearly and pray for comfort to the family left behind.

Mrs. Jones was my neighbor growing up. We always went to her house to sell chocolate bars for school fundraisers and she would buy so many! Such an amazing woman, she will be missed. My condolences to the family.

Aunt Edie, so many wonderful memories at your house when I was a child. It was always such a fun place to visit, swim or skate on the pond. Your home was always filled with visitors having coffee, chatting and enjoying the community of friends. You will be never be forgotten. What a great life lived! Thanks for all the memories❤️

Edith loved life, her friends and family. She could spark up a conversation with anyone, anywhere and have everyone smiling and laughing. She always had a funny story , a joke or a surprise in her purse. She loved to make people laugh. She was everyone’s adopted Oma. She had a gift for everyone, for any occasion or for no occasion. She just wanted to make you happy. She loved to collect things. Things that brought her happiness and things that brought others happiness too. When she’d add to her treasures, she’d say “I Loooooovvvve it” with the biggest smile.
Her and Don leave a HUGE hole in all our lives. Not a Christmas, Easter, Halloween or birthday will go by that we won’t miss them terribly, but we’ll recall all those happy memories with a smile. The antics, laughter, jokes and silliness brought so much joy to all of us.
I can’t help but smile as I think how much more FUN heaven will be now!!!

I will miss you Tante Edie. You really were a one of a kind woman, always smiling and laughing and ready to make everyone else laugh and smile along with you. Thank you for some of the best days in my childhood, we always had so much fun when we came to visit; feeding kittens whipped cream off of small dishes while the kittens were in mini high chairs, catching tadpoles out of the pond in your backyard, playing bingo, Easter egg hunts and just exploring the awesome place that was Tante Edie's. Your fun-loving, care-free attitude was inspiring.

Edie was someone who was always there for everyone no matter the time of day or night. Mom & Dad never forgot how both Don and Edie stayed up with them all night talking after we lost Sharon. They truly felt their loss with them. Over the 45 + yrs there was never a time I didn't feel welcome in their home. Edie always made sure of that. She will be greatly missed.
