Obituary of Anne Elizabeth Berger
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Anne Elizabeth Berger who passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 6, 2021.
Anne is survived by her husband, Antal Berger. Anne and Antal have three children, Marianne (Alain Fournier),Thomas, and Andrea (John Cavasin). She was a loving grandmother to Lauren, Michelle, Matthew, and Valerie.
Anne was born in Hungary to mother, Veronika Kertesz, and father, Frank Krump on January 28, 1938. She immigrated to Canada at the age of 11 with her brothers Steve and Alec Krump. They settled in Montreal and years later she met the love of her life, Antal. They eloped to Welland, Ontario where they were married and began their 63 year journey together.
Anne will be remembered for her deep love and devotion to her family. She encouraged strength, creativity and was a cheerleader for those she loved. Family was the joy of her life.
Anne was a social butterfly and left an impression. Everyone knew Anne! She was hardworking and never complained about the hard things in life. She was a perfectionist and always cared about making people comfortable and happy.
Anne was an outstanding cook who made fabulous meals (her Hungarian cabbage rolls were sought after) and made holiday and birthdays celebrations special. Anne had a witty sense of humour and a zest for life; she loved to dance and listen to music. Anne’s candour was always an endearing quality. People will remember her laugh and her few guilty pleasures; Coffee Crisp, Chips, Cheezies to name a few.
We will all miss her terribly, but have many memories to comfort us. She will live in our hearts forever.
Due to COVID restrictions, a private funeral service will be held for the immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Niagara Region
