I had the pleasure of working with Don at Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School. He was a wonderful colleague. He was passionate about teaching and a true professional. He always had a kind word for everyone and he was a mentor to many at the school. He was looking forward to joining his friend Pat Ryan for a last visit to Grimsby Secondary School.

My husband (Beryl's younger brother) and I frequently went over to Canada to see Don and Beryl who were always most hospitable, showed us large parts of Ontario, in particular Niagara Falls, and introduced us to many of their friends. Don was always so kind and considerate and we enjoyed many hours at their local Tim Horton's.
I do very much thank Shirley and her husband for adopting Don and Beryl as part of their family and showing them so much kindness and love. Shirley was devoted to Don and looked after him and I am truly grateful to her and her husband who both worked so hard in his late life to love and support him and he was so proud to be one of their family.
There's no doubt that Don will be sorely missed by many of his friends and relations.

Thanks so much to everyone involved in organising such a lovely service for Don. He was a wonderfully kind and compassionate man with a great sense of humour and he will be sadly missed by many. We so appreciated the effort that Uncle Don and Aunty Beryl always made to come over to England for big family occasions and it was always such a pleasure spending time with them both. We only have happy memories and my only wish is that we could have seen them more often.

As troubled youth, Mr Stadler bestowed in me his faith and guidance where he introduced me to Badminton at Sir Winston Churchill Secondary. He was a kind and gentle soul who saw the good in everyone. I will miss him dearly.

From age 11 to 16 I had the privilege to work for Mr. Stadler doing yardwork on his lovely property. He provided me with such an incredible first job and taught me about the beauty of nature, a topic close to his heart. He shared countless stories about the property that he loved and tended with such enjoyment. Mr. Stadler's deep fascination with the source of the beauty around us led to many deep conversations and rarely would a work day pass without us meeting up somewhere on the property for him to pass on some knowledge and experience.
Mr. Stadler always opened his house and library of books for us to enjoy. I remember one rainy afternoon where we visited him and the love of his life, Beryl Stadler, we stayed for many hours looking through his vast collection of books discussing the many topics and places they contained. Mr. Stadler loved teaching and we are all the richer for it!
It was such an honor to spend so much time with Mr. Stadler and learn so much from him. He was such a kind and caring individual. A quote that he once shared is as follows: "When someone passes away, a library of knowledge has been lost." This is especially true with the passing Mr. Stadler, and I pray that one day we may meet again.

Our family lives in Don Stadler's neighborhood. We have many happy memories of interacting with Mr. Stadler, whether on his property, in our yard or in passing on the country road; he always had a cheerful comment and genuine smile. From loaning books and proof reading some essays of the older children, to little sweet conversations with the younger ones, Mr. Stadler always had something encouraging to share. His ongoing passon for teaching even in his later years was evident as he would point out many of the wonders of nature in his backyard to our children. The kids fondly remember the "cathedral" they would create among the trees as they would rake up leaves with Mr. Stadler and then play in them. Don's gentle and committed care of his precious Beryl, especially in those later years was something beautiful to behold. We will greatly miss Mr. Stadler in our neighborhood!

Mr. Stadler was such a gentlemen. He was my teacher at SWC back in the 80's and he always had time for a chat. I would see him later in life at the grocery store and always remembered my name and always asked about my family. RIP Mr. Stadler.

We met Don and Beryl through mutual educator friends. How fortunate to know such a pleasant, kind, optimistic man - so interested in people, music, reading and what a gardener! One memorable occasion was a Canada Day party they hosted with themed decorations, food, and a hearty singing of "O Canada". May Don now rest in peace. Condolences to Don's family and his caring family Shirley, Jun and Leanard.

We were sorry to hear of Don's passing. I went to Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School when Don and his wife Beryl taught there and I met up with them again when my Mom and Beryl where residents at the United Mennonite Home in Vineland. My sister Janis and I saw how dedicated Don was to Beryl and it was wonderful to get to know them better. He was such a kind, gentle soul and I'm sure he'll be missed by many. Don was a gentle soul who enjoyed a quiet life, reading , tending his garden and spending time with his love, Beryl. He enjoyed inspiring conversations. My memories centre on spending many holiday dinners around Helen and Tony’s dining table. Helen was a Ukrainian cook beyond compare. I was lucky when I married Don’s younger brother, Ken. I miss them all.

We are so sorry to hear this sad news, Don was a wonderful neighbour and a great conversationalist. When we started our labour of love restoring the barn and rebuilding the property next door to Don he was a pleasant distraction at times telling us the history of the property and general conversation. Our deepest condolences to the family. Rest In Peace Don.

Mr. Stadler was such an important man in my life. I first met him when I was in his French class in grade 9 at SWC. In grade 10 I became ill again with Leukemia and he volunteered his time to come to my house and personally tutor me. From that time onward we became life long friends! We played Golf, tennis and of course badminton together as he was our badminton coach at SWC.
Myself and my family became very close with Mr. and Mrs. Stadler. I spent many a time with them going to plays in Stratford, they attended my University graduation, my wedding and I have so many fond memories of the times I stayed with them at their amazing property in Vineland.
In life, all good things must come to an end point in time and not having Mr. Stadler around certainly makes me sad. I do however know that he had a tremendous influence on me and the man I have become today. I am sure that I am not alone in this regard, not even close! I will miss my friend, but the memories and life lessons he has taught me will live on forever!

Mr Stadler, and Miss Walker, 'High School Sweethearts', together again. I remember that first day back at school... how fast and excitedly the news of their summer marriage spread. The murmur of "did ya hear?" floating through the building. Fond memories of a wonderful person and teacher. Mr Stadler and Cliff Wheeler (science) in the gym playing '2 on 2' with some of 'my peers' who thought they would prevail....NOT! My condolences to those who loved him

Mr. Stadler was my Latin teacher at SWC many years ago now. I think my ineptitude for Latin caused him many a headache. When I stayed with a friend in Grimsby, we played tennis, and he had me conjugating Latin verbs while we played. I've never forgotten him and his extra helpfulness with my Latin troubles. I did pass in the end. But only because of this kind man. My condolences to his family.

Mr. Don Stadler (Papa Don), as our family fondly called him, had been a great part of our family. He was introduced to us by our relatives Jun & Shirley years ago. He was always there to watch our boys' piano recitals, he always attended our family's Christmas get together, birthdays, graduation etc. Papa Don was a very kind hearted person, full of wisdom, a good conversationist & a very humble man.
We will surely miss you Papa Don, but we have great memories of you that we can carry-on & you have a special spot in our hearts. We are so grateful to have known a great man like you.❤️
We would like to take this opportunity as well to extend our heartfelt condolences to all the relatives he left behind.
