July 8th 1928-July 7th 2021

It is with great sadness that on July 7th, 2021, we said goodbye to Elizabeth Budd, our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She would have turned 93 on July 8th. Liz is predeceased by her loving husband and sisters. A proud war bride from Ripon, England, Liz came to Canada after the end of the Second World War with her husband Russell, who was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force. Liz was the first of four sisters—along with Madeline, Grace and Edna—to make the trip to Canada, which she found “too blumin’ hot.” From family events to chatting up strangers on public transit, Liz was happy to tell anyone her story. She could make friends in an empty room. Liz enjoyed a long career at Eaton’s and volunteer work at McNally House Hospice. She enjoyed baking, gardening, and singing, but most of all spending time with her family and friends. Liz will be sadly missed by her children Paul (Bertha), Peter and Joan, and grandchildren Alanna (Jeff), Evan (Olivia) and Megan. The family would like to thank all the staff at the United Mennonite Home for their compassionate care. Bless your little heart grandma, we will miss you.
