Obituary of Henry Kopp

Kopp, Henry - July 19, 2021, peacefully at Hospice Niagara – St Catharines.

Henry will be deeply missed by his Grandchildren Bob Abell (Sandra), Laurie Abell. Grampa and best friend to his great grandchildren Will Abell and Allison Bradley (Alan) and his daughter in law Judy Abell.

Henry also shared a special bond with his great- nieces and nephews Harry Loewen (Carolyn), Linda Friesen (Karl), Carolyn Berg (James) and Greg Loewen (Jennifer) and their families.

Henry is predeceased by his beloved wife Olly (1997), step-son Bob Abell Sr. (2002), sister Susanne Kliewer (2007), nephew Peter Loewen (2001) and niece Irma Loewen (2014)

Henry was a remarkable man whose smile and wisdom touched the lives of so many.  Born 1928 in Ukraine, Henry endured many hardships through his early years. He emigrated to Canada in 1950 and spent many years working as a master carpenter with his nephew Pete, taking much pride in his work. He was extremely devoted to his family, always there to lend a hand or give advice when asked. There are so many fond memories of times he spent with his great grandchildren and great-great nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Pleasant Manor in Virgil and Hospice Niagara for their compassion and gentle service.  A private family service will be held on Thursday July 22 at 10:30am, with interment to follow at Fonthill Cemetery.
