Obituary of Diann Elizabeth Waugh
Waugh, Diann Elizabeth –
Our Mom, Diann Elizabeth Waugh, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Thursday July 22, 2021. Mom was born December 6, 1940 in Humberstone Township. She was the youngest of three girls, Shirley and Marlene her surviving sisters. She was raised by her father, Ross Stoner and her grandmother, Lulu Stoner.
At an early age, mom attended St.Peter’s Lutheran Church where she was confirmed and later married our father James Waugh. They had 7 children: Tim (Debbie predeceased), Louann (Dan), Jackie, Christine (Scott), Barbara (Frank), Mark (predeceased) and Samuel.
Our mom always sent the best birthday cards and wrote notes of encouragement, thanks, or appreciation to all. When we were young, mom sewed many of our clothes (including matching outfits for Christmas), and knit and crocheted beautiful blankets and sweaters. Many of those blankets were for her grandchildren: Christine (Zach), Rachel, Aaron (Edyta), Jilliann, Isaac (Lauren), Evan (Emma), Cameron (Katie), Laney (Mike), Luke, MacGregor, Frankie, Dalton (Taylor), Jesse (Hilary), and MacKenzie (Kevin).
Mom was blessed with 9 great grandchildren: Logan, Riley, Charlie, Henry, Grace, Thomas, Lily, Kade, and Leah.
Mom worked in the Beamsville and Grimsby communities: Commisso’s, The Donut Diner, Christies Dairy, Giant Tiger. Mom also worked for local farmers in the summer season. Mom enjoyed the comradery with her customers and her friendships with co-workers. Her friendship with Jenny spanned 50+ years.
Our mother’s faith was strong. Mom was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and faithfully took all of us children to Sunday Worship Services and to Sunday School. Mom regularly attended services, was active on committees, cleaned the church, arranged and organized the flowers in the church, and loved her “church family”. Mom placed her trust in God and His promises.
The family will receive friends at Tallman Funeral Homes, 3277 King St., Vineland, on Monday July 26, 2021 from 6 – 8pm. Due to Covid restrictions, pre-registration for visitation is required. Please follow this link to register for visitation. A funeral service will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church on Tuesday at 10am with interment to follow at Lanes Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the church or a charity of choice.
