Dearest Ria, Rob and Dayna, Kevin and Nicole, Mary, Sarah, Lesley and all your precious grandchildren, siblings and extended family, Our hearts and prayers are with each of you as you mourn and feel the loss of your dear hubby, father, grandfather, beloved brother and uncle. We have very fond memories of our cousin John.....he was a reflective, kind, fun, thoughtful and caring man and we had some wonderful times with him....in our formative years and even a few in the later years. We always missed living so far from our extended family! May the Lord draw near to comfort and lift you throughout this season.....to keep you at peace and rested in His love and care as He promises to bring you safely through this valley! John was the BEST brother any sister could ever have. How very much I loved him! People always asked me why I was there at the UMH so often to see him since he was admitted there? I always said it was because John was ALWAYS there for me. We had a strong bond that only brothers and sisters can experience. One example of this was when I took my border collie Kelly to Short Hills Park for a walk and a nasty rotty attacked my Kelly and had him by the throat. I pulled the rotty off my Kelly in a head lock. It then grabbed me by the arm and bit hard. In shock, I stumbled to my truck and called John for help. He was at my home before I even got there and rushed me for medical care. John did not complain about the many injustices he has had in the last 5 years since his illness began. He just bravely put one foot ahead of the other and carried on with a strength and determination I have never experienced. What a power of example my brother John has been to anyone who has witnessed his walk to peaceful eternity. Some do not know that the first miracle JESUS performed in the Bible was to turn water to wine at a wedding . John is well qualified to deliver the wine in Heaven to the glorious wedding which will take place there. If you listen carefully with your HEART, you will hear the Freightliner coming down the road. You can not miss the sound of that motor! John will have the window open and have a huge beautiful smile on his dear face. He will honk the horn and give you all the THUMBS UP signal as he goes by. I will forever miss you John - until we meet again. REST IN PEACE NOW MY DEAR BROTHER AND FRIEND. Love in Jesus, Mary xxx
