Obituary of Mary Bergmann

Mary Bergmann, aged 94, died peacefully on November 5, 2021 at Vineland United Mennonite Home. Mary was born in Manitoba on August 4, 1927 and moved with her family to Ontario in 1941 where she was active at Virgil Mennonite Brethren Church. She enjoyed yarn crafting, visiting friends and family, working outdoors, and eventually became a nurse, working at Niagara on the Lake Cottage Hospital until her retirement in 1992. Mary’s cheerful personality and love for her Saviour endeared her to all whom she knew. 

Special thanks to the caring staff at Pleasant Manor and Vineland UM Home. Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews Ruth (Bob) Froese, John (Maxine) Bergmann, Beth (Harold) Bartel, Barb (Carl) Heinrichs, Harold (Diane) Bergmann, thirteen great nieces and nephews with their spouses and twelve great great nieces and nephews. Joyfully reunited in heaven with her dear sister, Martha Bergmann, brother Walter (Helen) Bergmann and her parents. 

The family shared memories and said farewells at Tallman Funeral Home in VIneland on Sunday, November 7. Friends are invited to attend a short interment service at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery on Tuesday, November 9 at 11:00 a.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee.
