Obituary of Mary Wittenberg

Mary Wittenberg of 25 Thompson Ave., St. Catharines died Saturday November 6, 2021 at Heidehof Home. Born in Crawfoot, Alberta to Peter & Helena Siemens in 1926. Mary moved to Lacombe area where she went to school and then to Lofield with family. She attended M.B.I. Bible School and was baptized in Lofield U.M. Church. The next was to Ontario with her parents and 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Here she worked in a sewing factory and married Cornelius Wittenberg in 1948. They raised 5 boys. in 1991, Cornelius was diagnosed with cancer but was in remission for some time but lost the battle in 1998. They both joined Fairview Mennonite Brethren Church where Mary was involved in Time Out and also the Christian Benefit.

She leaves behind to mourn Larry (Anne d. 2003), Ron & Jean, Gord, Allan and grandchildren Sarah, Christopher, Amanda and Jared.

A Memorial Service will be held at Northend Church, 455 Geneva St., St. Catharines, on Monday November 22 at 1pm.
