Bruna Norma Tommasini (nee Sain)
“You have greatly encouraged me and made me happy” 2 Corinthians 7:4
Our beloved Mother passed into the Arms of Her Saviour Jesus at home in her 91st year on November 21, 2021. Survived by her Daughters Susan (Daniel) Plouffe, Anna (David) Smith, her Son Dr. Robert Tommasini and Mark.
Loving Grandmother of Lisa, Michelle (Rick) and Andrea (Daniel). Great Grandmother of Ben, Jaxson, Zoey, Victor, Samuel, Alyssa and Ricky. Great Great Grandmother of Victoria and Elizabeth. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband Victor Tommasini and Sister Nerina Tomasini.
Bruna Tommasini had a rich history. Immigrating to Canada from Trieste, Italy following persecution during the Second World War, she began to work at the Collingwood Marine Hospital upon arrival to Canada. She then became a nursing assistant for Paramed Services. For many years she enjoyed working at Grand & Toy in St. Catharines. She was a seamstress, creating beautiful clothes and designs.
She loved children, and in her retirement years became a Nanny for the McKenzie family of Orillia, caring for their daughter, Lindsay.
Bruna was also an avid gardener and enjoyed planting and caring for her vegetable garden, with her little pugs following her. Her garden was beautiful with so many varieties of flowers.
Most of all, Bruna had a deep-rooted faith in Christ and lived as a Godly example to the many who touched her life. Daily, as she read her Bible, she would pray for every individual and family member she knew. Bruna deeply loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In more recent years, while fighting a courageous battle against her illness, she cherished the time with her family, who surrounded her with love until she went to be home with Jesus. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
