Obituary of Audrey Gladys Worthington

Worthington, Audrey (nee Ellis) - passed away peacefully on November 23^rd, 2021. Audrey lived her life to the fullest, right up to her final day, when she spent some quiet time, immersed in love, holding hands with her daughter, while at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital. Audrey lived an exceptional life and was a beautiful example of how to live with grace and authenticity. She was in her 100^th year and her heart had worked so hard at being loving for so many years, that it finally got tired and let her finally rest in peace.

Audrey was admired greatly by all who knew her during her many years working up to the Postmaster position at the rural Mount Hope Post Office. She was a strong woman with an independent and stubborn side, full of love with a perfectly timed sense of humour and she will remain an absolute inspiration to all those who knew her.

Audrey is predeceased by the love of her life, Gord, and her Parents, Arthur & Gladys Ellis and 7 of her Siblings. Audrey was also predeceased by 1 Great Grandson, David who passed away at 18 years of age. She was, and will continue to be, loved by her surviving Children Richard (Barb) and Leah (John), her Grandchildren Michelle (David), Leanne, Brenden (Rhonda), Brett (Charity), “Michael” (Adrianne), Stephanie, Paul (Amanda) and her 14 Great-Grandchildren and her 1 Great-Great-Granddaughter.   Each of us will hold forever in our hearts our fond memories of this most amazing woman.

Audrey will be especially missed by her longtime friend, Johanne, and her nieces Barb and Lynda (who kept in close touch and visited often). The many friends at her apartment building will miss her immensely. (Her Grand-puppy, Gomur, will miss her too!)

As per Audrey's wishes, Cremation has taken place and her internment, where she will once again be beside her husband, will take place on the Anniversary of their marriage, June 24^th, 2022, at White Chapel Cemetery in Hamilton. Audrey's Celebration of Life will be on a different date not yet determined. Memorial donations will be appreciated to any of Audrey's favourite charities, Hamilton/Burlington SPCA, Canadian Wildlife Federation or The David Gregory MacKinnon Memorial Foundation or a charity of your choice.
