We feel fortunate to have been a part of your Mom's celebration of life today, Marilyn. Will be thinking of you as you go through the next days and weeks, adjusting to this hard new reality. We are so struck by her life story. It does inspire us to work towards peace and justice. And to eat ice cream!

My deepest sympathies to the Friesen family. Mrs. Friesen was my very first Sunday School teacher at SCUMC when my family arrived at SCUMC in Sept 1965. We had just made a transition from Vineland to St. Catharines to tap into the stronger use of German. I was still missing my friends when I said to Mrs. Friesen, "I am not happy that we left Vineland. I will go back one day." As a seven year, I could not have imagined that my words would turn out to be prophetic. Her warmth and care as a SS teacher delayed my return to Vineland for 11 years. May you feel the presence of God's peace as you gather as a family to mourn your loss and celebrate the life of a special person. - Ted Fransen, Morden, MB

Our heartfelt condolences to all of you as you share memories of your Mom and Oma. It was so nice to see her cheerful smile when she sat 2 rows in front of us at church every Sunday. Always ready for a greeting and words of encouragement when she saw us. May God wrap his arms around you and comfort you.
