Obituary of Erika Welter

With great sadness, we announce that Erika Welter passed away on March 31, 2022 in Burlington. She was 68 years old.

Erika was born in St. Catharines in 1953, grew up in Virgil and attended Niagara District High School. She became a certified medical lab technologist and later obtained a Bachelor’s degree from Brock University. Erika had a longstanding interest in alternative health. She enjoyed spending time with her family at home and adventures traveling, shopping and trying new restaurants. 

Erika will be dearly missed by her daughters Karen Reimers (Uli Bubenheimer, grandson Leo Reimers) and Rita Miller (Ted Miller, grandson Tay and granddaughter Kali), brother Art Welter (Jessie Poon) and sister Monica Kerber (Tom Kerber, niece Angela Puddicombe, niece Krista Cook, nephew Andrew Kerber) and many cousins. She is preceded in death by her brother Rudi Welter and her parents Lilli Welter (Jakubowski) and Alex Welter of Virgil. 

A private family service and burial will be held on Saturday, April 9th, 2022  at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery in Niagara-on-the-Lake.  A Celebration of Life reception for Erika will be planned for a later date in summer 2022.

Erika will be sadly missed along life’s way, but she will always be in our hearts.
