Obituary of Elizabeth (Betsy) Josephine Lamers-Muileboom (nee de Laat)

Muileboom, Elizabeth (Betsy) - It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful death of our Mom on April 5, 2022 in her 88^th year. First born daughter of the late Petronella Maria and Hendrik de Laat. Beloved wife of the late Henry Lamers (1988) and the late Albert Muileboom (2006). Dearly loved mom of Michael (Suzanne), Mary-Anne (Alain) Borduas, Rick (Maryke), Gary (Julie), Brian (Cindy) and Christine (Jason) Dell. Cherished Oma to Matthew (Seunghee), Patricia (Jason) DeAngelis, Stephen (Julie), Mark, Philippe Borduas, Daniel Borduas, Nicole, Jessica, Thomas, Jacob Dell and Serafina Dell.  Oma-Oma to 6 great grandchildren and Tante to many nieces and nephews. Cherished sister of John (Vera) de Laat, Frances Hendriks, Albert (Claudia) de Laat, Nelly (Brooke) Leightizer and Bill (Donna) de Laat, Sister-in-law to Ellie Huibers and Ruth de Laat. Predeceased by her sister Joanne Huibers, brothers Harry, Adrie, and Frank, brother in laws Gerry Hendriks and Joe Huibers and sister-in-law Pam de Laat. Betsy cherished her extended family and friends in both Canada and the Netherlands. 

Betsy was born March 22, 1935, in Dinther the Netherlands. She immigrated to Stayner Ontario in 1952, and raised her family with Henry in Beamsville.  For 38 years she worked as a rural route mail carrier in the Beamsville area.  Betsy was known for her quiet demeanor and whit. She loved being outdoors and took pride in her lovely gardens. A longstanding member of the CWL, she was always active in church and the community. We would like to thank the United Mennonite Home for their excellent care over the past year.

Family and friends are welcome to celebrate this special lady at Tallman Funeral Homes, 3277 King St., Vineland on Friday, April 8^th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Prayers to be said at 3:30pm.  Funeral will take place at St. Helen’s Church, 4106 Mountain St.,  Beamsville on Saturday April 9^th at 10:30am with interment at a later date.

The family has asked all visitors to wear masks, without exception.
