I offer my sincere condolences to the Scott family. I have many good memories of Kevin from his too-few years as principal of St. John’s School. His ever-present goodness and decency set a positive tone and reinforced good relationships throughout the school community. I remember too that he was never without a newspaper or a book to read which he no doubt did after his morning and afternoon “rounds”. Kevin comes to mind whenever I recall treasured moments from my teaching years, especially if they are accompanied by the music of Nat King Cole. Rest In Peace Kevin. You worked well in the vineyard.

So sad to hear of Kevin’s passing. I remember fondly the early days teaching with Kevin at the MSSB and the many barbecues and celebrations with Angie and Mike Litt and others. Those were wonderful times and Kevin was always the life of the party. Sheila and family my deep condolence. RIP Kevin.

I was sad to learn of the passing of my teacher, friend and colleague, Kevin Leo Scott.
Mr. Scott was my grade 8 teacher at St. Anthony Catholic School in 1964 after I arrived from Italy four years earlier. Since, at that time, there were no formal "ESL" classes for students, teachers and students, at the school, did their level best to teach and learn English as best as we could within the classroom setting. The school, in fact, was more like a "family" than an institution. Kevin was very much part of that school family and in the process, took on specific responsibilities. In 1963, Kevin initiated a competitive track and Field program at St Anthony where there had never been one before. We, the students were most appreciative and extremely committed.
With time, Kevin became a mentor to me. I would visit him regularly at the school, after I graduated from St Anthony. Kevin, in fact, was instrumental in helping me decide to attend Teachers' College rather than pursuing other job offers at the time. When I graduated from Toronto Teachers' College, Kevin requested me for his area and school but unfortunately, he was transferred, last minute, back to St Bridget as principal. Thus, we never did end up working together after I became a teacher
but later on, I did see him fairly regularly at principals' meetings where we would reminisce about past times. I will be forever indebted to Kevin for the interest that he took in me as a young immigrant student and his guidance and his friendship. Rest in peace dear teacher, friend and colleague!

On behalf of the Toronto Catholic Principals' and Vice-Principals' Association, I send my prayers to Kevin's family. He was an outstanding man, respected by his peers and communities. Kevin led by example and was a model for all of us. His kind and direct leadership was always filled with humor and charity. Kevin truly loved his sports and supported all of his coaches and school teams. He was often seen cheering from the stage or sidelines at St. Brigid's School. I am glad that he was able to enjoy such a long and happy retirement.

Sheila and family, our most heartfelt condolences on the passing of your husband and father. Kevin was a terrific person to both Mary and I as a personal friend and as educators. He was the Vice Principal of St. Brigid at the time and later he returned as Principal. He was well-respected by the staff and students. There are many tributes to Kevin on the St. Brigid Facebook page by students and staff. May he Rest In Peace and may God bless the Scott family at this time! All of our love and prayers, Michael and Mary Francone

My heartfelt condolences to a wonderful human being & principal at St. Brigid's Catholic Elementary School in Toronto! I have such fond memories of a strict but very fair principal; you have left me a fond memory, Mr Scott, I will never forget you, especially the time you let my cousin stay for drop in night as an exception to the rules! And we thought we were in big trouble for sneaking her in! Lol May you RIP! Amen! Jenny Loconte class of 74.
