Obituary of Lars Olav Budjan

Budjan, Lars Olav (Larry) - Passed away at the St. Catharines Site of Niagara Health on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.  Beloved husband of Marianne Reim. Father of Gordon (Tammy Lynne), Ronald (Tammy).  Stepdaughter Claudia Arp (Kevin).  He was a grandfather to many grandchildren and great grandchildren and uncle to nieces and nephews.  He was also survived by siblings Anne Walter (Rudi), Alex Budjan (Ursula) and brother-in-law Manfred Schmitz (Uschi).  

For many years he worked at Dofasco.  One of his colleagues described him this way, "He was innovative, very intelligent and resourceful.  Management and subordinates respected him, and his knowledge and leadership skills.  His problem solving solutions were outstanding and very often unique."

Lars (Larry known by most) was also heavily involved in some very unusual and unique projects.  He spent lots of time in Montreal working on Canada's first successful hydraulic tilting railway car and locomotive project, the famous LRC.

He was loving husband and proud grandfather.

He will be missed so very much by his wife, family and many, many friends and colleagues

Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 5 from 6-8pm at the Vineland Chapel of Tallman Funeral Homes, 3277 King St., Vineland. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Friday, May 6 at 1:00pm with visitation beginning at 11:00am.  Interment to follow at St. Ann's Cemetery.
