Obituary of Jean Paterson

Paterson, Jean - It is with profound sadness and heartbreak that we announce the passing of our mother, nana and great nana, Jean Paterson, on Sunday, September 25, 2016, at the age of 89. Jean died as peacefully as she lived, surrounded by her family. She is predeceased by her husband Gord (2009) and survived by her daughters Nancy Smith (Ken 1998), Joan Burns (Rob), Janet Mitchell (Mark), and Kathi Elliotson (Lorne 2002). Beloved Nana to Rachel (Justin) and Kendra Smith, Shari (Frances) and Rena Burns, Tara (Syl) DeFrancesco, Brandi (Rob) Mitchell, and Breanna and Kevin Elliotson. Jean was overjoyed to fulfill her dream of becoming a Great-Nana with the birth of Luca Francesco on September 1, 2016, but was unable to wait for the arrival of her great-granddaughter due to arrive in a couple of weeks. Jean is also survived by her sister-in-law Eileen Paterson. Visitation will take place at the Vineland Chapel of Tallman Funeral Homes, 3277 King St. Vineland, on Tuesday, from 7-8:30pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday at 11:00am with cremation to follow. If desired, memorial donations may be made to kidney.ca.
