Myers, John William (Bill)

April 26, 1945 - May 11, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Bill Myers at the age of 77.  Best friend and loving husband of Carolyn. Devoted father of Alison and her husband Leandro, Colleen and her husband John, Jennifer and her husband Aaron. Much loved Papa of Kyle, Logan, Ava, Liam, Taeya, and Isaac. Predeceased by John, Dorothy, Gwen, and Ron Myers. Brother-in-law to Joanne (Andrew), Wayne and Carol, Tanya and Scott, Lorraine and Drew.

Bill was born in St. Catharines and spent his life on the Myers family farm in the Beamsville area. For years it was a known fact that if you were looking for Bill, you would find him working tirelessly in his vineyard. In addition to spending time with his family, Bill’s favourite past times included playing hockey with the Clinton Clippers and the Windjammers, hunting in Allegany County, and puttering at the cottage. In retirement, Bill and Carolyn felt fortunate to enjoy numerous trips together covering many different countries. Bill didn’t like to sit still for too long. 

Bill was never the loudest in a room, but those who knew him appreciated his quick wit and sense of humour. He will be remembered with a smile on his face and for his generosity with family and friends alike. He will be forever missed.

Family and friends will be received at the Tallman Fireside Room, 3277 King St., Vineland on Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 2-4pm. A private family interment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations to establish a student scholarship in Bill’s name in the Oenology and Viticulture (OEVI) program at Brock University.
