Aalbert deJong
It pleased the Lord to call home Bert deJong, in his 69th year. Beloved husband of Luella ( Klassen) for 45 years. Loving father to Ben (Erin), Wayne (Jodie), Karin (Dave), and Marianne. Opa to Lauren, Heidi, Gavin, Zachary, Natalie, Shannon, Alyssa, Avery, Amanda, and Andrew. Dear son-in-law to Jessie Klassen, dear brother to Diny (Dick+) Verheij and Johan and Coby deJong of the Netherlands, and dear brother-in-law to Jessie and Rob Ritchie, Art and Cynthia Klassen, Betsy and Paul Bouchier, and Ed Klassen. Survived by many nieces and nephews.
Bert was born to Dina and Leendert deJong in Scheveningen, the Netherlands on July 9, 1953. He immigrated to Canada in 1974 and started working at Ontario Diesel where he met Luella. They married in 1976, and were blessed with four children. Bert worked for Bomag in the compaction industry for many years, where he retired three years ago. Bert was an active member of Vineland Free Reformed Church, serving as a deacon and elder for many years. He was the chair of the Christian Ministry to Israel, and loved to sing in the Mattaniah Male Choir. He was a friend and mentor to many and a true family man.

Visitation at Vineland Free Reformed Church on Monday, May 30 from 2-4pm and 6:30-8:30pm. Funeral on Wednesday, June 1st at 10:30am, preceded by interment at 9:30am, Vineland cemetery.
