Dearest Gramma,
I miss you already, but I have so many beautiful memories that I will cherish and hold close to me heart. The love you had for your family, neighbor's and all animals warmed my heart.
The sleep overs and mail routes through country roads, attending penny sales and the excitement we shared when we won even sometimes when the item was something you won , but didn't put a ticket in for ( but I did when you gave me your leftover tickets) lol ..
The pride you took in your appearance. Always having your nails manicured and painted to not leaving the house without your favorite shade of lipstick. My love of shoes started with you and me stumbling across your large bathroom closet filled with shoes. At an early age , I would try them all on and prance around until I was comfortable walking in them. Fast forward, I now have my own closet/closets full of shoes ( mine and your great granddaughters) and we always joked how that was your fault.
The holiday dinners that grandpa and you took such joy in preparing. You setting up the tables with all the place settings even the juice glasses for "Garden cocktail" aka V8.
Our love of Indigenous history and roots as well as their art and Pow Wows will always make me think of you.
The effort put in to keep the "candy jar" filled with treats for your grandkids ( and your big kids too) and how on the rare occasion that the jar was empty, you would give me some loose change to go to the corner store in lieu. How you always had "McLaurens" cold packed cheddar for me even if the one in the fridge only had enough for 1 cracker , I knew you always had a spare in the freezer.
I'll miss our more recent chats and the nostalgia I felt reminiscing with you over how you felt when I was born ( your first grandchild) and how Grandpa treated me like a doll as he was so worried about how fragile I was. I'll miss hearing about your weekly entertainment at the home and "happy hour" that always had you enjoy a good ole Rum and Coke. Stories about all the shenanigan's with your daughters and the evening update calls from them and uncle Norm about Joey.
I will miss all of this so much, but I will remember. This is not good bye, it is until I see you again. I know that your parents, Grandpa, Aunt Linda and uncle Dean were waiting to welcome you with open hearts and loving arms into the heavenly gardens.
Rest easy Granma , Love you always , Tessa and Family
To my aunts, uncles , cousins, Grammas' extended family, friends and neighbors and all who knew gramma, my condolences to you as I know you will all miss her as much as I will, but know she had a very long and happy life !

Grandma,
Your smile was contagious and made your eyes light up. I'll always remember sitting at your table with a little bowl of pure maple syrup, eating it plain... yum!! And how your ALWAYS had your nails done. I don't think I ever saw you without nail polish. When I was little, you and grandpa would take me with you sometimes in your wee Datsun (?) truck to do your mail delivery route. The mail sorting room always seemed like such a wonder to me as a child. Family dinners were always big at your home, and us cousins were always put on dish-washing duty after the meal. I think your dinners must be where my love for olives and pickles comes from, and we were never afraid to heap food on our plates! In fact, when we started growing up and dating, that was how we could tell who was a McPherson just by their plate of food. The "newbies" always took little, polite portions, hahaha! Your dogs and budgies were so loved and spoiled too. I'm SO thankful I was able to see you last Friday, and get to tell you a few times that I love you, and give you a few kisses on your cheek and forehead. That will forever mean the world to me. I love you always. Give grandpa and uncle Dean a hug for me in Heaven. See you there when it's my turn.
Love, Asia
