Obituary of Laura Maria Beyer
It is with great sadness that the family of Lukie Beyer (Laura) announces her passing on May 31, 2022, in her 92nd year, surrounded by family. She is free from pain and is now in the loving arms of her Saviour Jesus Christ, for which we are grateful.
Lukie was one of 7 children and was born November 12, 1930 in Leiden, Netherlands Mom immigrated to Canada on her honeymoon in 1957, where she raised her family of seven sons with her husband Bill (2010). She loved all things nature like camping, feeding her birds & bird watching, spending time in her gardens and doting on any and all animals. She also loved spending time by the water in Niagara-On-The-Lake with family.
Mom enjoyed adventure and travelled even well into her 70’s. From taking the train to Ottawa,to camping in various locations across Canada and the U.S., to visiting family back in Holland & Kenya, to a missions trip in Guatemala, this gave her great pleasure.
They moved several times over the years, and Mom made friends everywhere she went. Most importantly she was faithful to her Saviour, and instilled that faith in her sons growing up.
Lukie is predeceased by her husband Bill, of 53 years. She is survived by her sons Vincent (Ann), Rick (Lynn), Carl (Sherrie), Rob (Linda), Mark (Jill), Eric (Mary), Dave (Gwen), 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and many extended family members.
A HUGE thank you to Shalom Manor Sunrise Court Staff for 3 1/2 years of amazing and loving care. A private family celebration will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Tallman Funeral Home Vineland.
ONE BREATH FROM HEAVEN (by son Eric Beyer)
It's hard to think of it, but it is true
There is nothing left, nothing more that we can do
For now, you are one breath away from heaven
We know it is soon, we just don't know when
We can sit with you and say you are not alone
We can remember better days growing up at home
Continue to hold your hand, and we can stroke your hair
Remind you that there are those here that care
Well done, I am sure that's what will be said
You've looked after us all, kept us clothed and fed
Though you are still one breath away from heaven
You befriended the lonely and taught us all a lesson
Go ahead, take your last breath before heaven
Jesus awaits your arrival, anticipates your expression
There is nothing left here for you to do
You will be whole again, and you will be made new
Your race is done, and you've run it well
In heaven there will be sights of which no words can tell
The first breath in heaven will bring you such joys
We all wish this for you, all seven of your boys
