Obituary of Tomas Avila

Tomas Machado Avila, 88 of St Catharines, Ontario passed away on July 27, 2022 in Beamsville, Ontario.  A private family service will take place to honour his wishes.

Tomas was born in the Azores, Portugal to Tomas and Adelaide on December 13, 1933.  He came to Canada in 1970 and began a new life in the country he loved so much.  Shortly after, he started his own painting company with his wife and worked together for over 30 years meeting many wonderful people along the way.  He was a devout Catholic who loved life and all it had to offer and greeted everyone with a smile.  His passion for music and willingness to help all those around him brought him great joy.

Tomas is survived by the love of his life of 57 years, Zilda, Son Tom (Tracy), Grandson Thomas, Sisters Emilia,(Cesar), Rosalina (Eduino), Adelaide (Geronimo), Odete (Joe), Brother John (Olympia).  Tomas is preceded in death by his Brother Manuel.

My father never taught me how to throw a curveball or take a wicked slapshot, he did much more.  He taught me all the skills I would need to make a great life for myself.  Thank you Pops.
