Obituary of James George Macri

Macri, James - James George Macri, 75, passed away on August 21, 2022, after his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. 

James was beloved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his loving wife Angela (Florio), their eldest son George Macri and his children Kyra and Dylan, their daughter Daniella Macri, her spouse Robert Dvorchik and their children Francesco and Daria. 

Born the youngest of four to George and Mary (Nasso) Macri in Kitchener, Ontario, he is preceded in death by his brother Tony Macri (Mary), his sister Theresa (Macri) McIntyre (Ray), and survived by Rosemary (Macri) Boldt and brother Guy Macri. He was cherished by his brothers, sisters, many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

James managed a family vineyard while also dedicating 30 years to what is now known as Peller Estates Winery. He looked forward to the annual company holiday parties and treasured the wonderful friends he made along the way.

A warm thank you is extended to James’ medical care team at the Juravinski Cancer Centre, and the kind-hearted staff and volunteers at the McNally House Hospice. In remembrance of James’ life, the family asks that charitable donations are made to Pancreatic Cancer Canada or the  McNally House Hospice.  

On September 1^st, the family will receive friends and family at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church 934 Hamilton Regional Rd 8, Stoney Creek, at 10 am, immediately followed by a funeral mass at 11am. After the mass, there will be an entombment at  Our Lady of the Angels Mausoleum on  681 Mud St E, Stoney Creek followed by a reception for family and friends back at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
