Obituary of Michael Donald Martin
Michael Donald Martin
Born March 25, 1972, and passed away on Sunday September 4, 2022.
In spite of Michael’s medical challenges, he was a positive and avid lover of learning, an adventurous spirit, and engaged in life.
Throughout his life, he loved to travel and was known to have numerous hobbies and interests, and enjoyed continuously learning new things. As a young man in the 1990’s, he was a Baha’i pioneer to Chad Africa. He trained as a Chef, learned about farming, building boats and even in his last days, he began playing the 1/4 Bass. He could be seen flying drones and model airplanes in his backyard with his nephew. In all of his interests, he would jump in and learn everything he could with admirable enthusiasm.
Michael was known for his ability to connect on a personal level. He would sit with people and listen about their life. Friendship meant a lot to him and he is lovingly remembered as kind, generous, and caring.
He championed many causes and his enthusiasm encouraged others to help as well.
Among the members of his family, for whom he cared so deeply, Michael was the voice of peace and unity, encouraging all to end any arguments and cool tempers.
We miss his smile, his easy laugh, and sense of humour. When you were around Mike, you felt joy.
Michael leaves behind his Mother Darlene Naylor, Brother Stephan Martin (Shalon Bowerman), and Sisters Shawntyl Lawrence, Billy Lawrence, Joyce Zita, and Melanie Elson.
Loved and missed by his Grandmother 'Maemae' Georgette Naylor as her first grandson, Uncles William Naylor (Francine), Gordon Naylor, Richard Naylor (Phyllis), Aunts Gail Polsky (Jack), Nancy Elliott, Corrin Grandmaitre (Marc), Holly-Jean Naylor, as well as his nieces and nephews and many cousins.
The funeral service will be held in the chapel at Tallman Funeral Homes, 3277 King St., Vineland on Friday Septmeber 9, 2022 at 11am. Interment to follow at Mount Osborne Cemetery in Beamsville at 11:45am. Reception at Tallman Fireside Room at 1pm..
