Karin was in the Sunday School class I was teaching at Bethany M.C. around 1965-1966. One Sunday morning my students played a funny trick on me. They had put a bunch of thumbtacks on my chair. When, several decades later, we caught up again with each other.at Pleasant Manor, I reminded Karin of this (good-natured) trick. Ever since then Karin took great delight in asking me to repeat this story whenever a third (or more) person was around.
Rest in peace Karin.

Sorry to hear of Karin's passing. She kept a low profile in public, yet very observant and perceptive. Always caring and affirming of others. Blessings of God's peace to family for the love and faith she shared.

There were three of us (Enns) who were all born in 1950 - Janet Enns Elliotson, Karin Hildebrandt and me, Ester Koop Neufeldt. I remember at least three or four summers when we would go to Karin's home for "summer holidays". Such fun! I was coming from the "farm" and she lived "in town". I thought she was so lucky!
Many years ago, some of the Enns' aunts, uncles and cousins got together to play bridge. Karin and her Mom were partners. It was fun to re-connect with Karin at that time...and she was a pretty good player, probably because of her good memory for numbers!
I think Karin was a walking "genealogy" encyclopedia. Long before many of us became interested in our heritage, Karin knew so many details about her family's story, so I wasn't at all surprised when her obituary indicated that Friends of Ukraine was her favourite charity.
Karin will be missed. She loved her family and loved to talk about their adventures and accomplishments. Our deepest sympathy to her siblings/in-laws and the rest of the family.
Rest in peace, Karin.
