Obituary of Derk Willem Wikkerink

Derk (Dick) Willem WIKKERINK

November 9, 1936 – December 21, 2022

It has pleased the Lord in His infinite wisdom to take to Himself Derk Wikkerink, devoted husband of the late Femmy Wikkerink (Otten). Loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather of Carolyn and Eric Groot-Nibbelink (Jenica, Michelle & Dylan, Carissa), Ruth Doorn (Micah & Claire, Emma, Jacob), Richard and Susan Wikkerink (Kristin & John, Emma, Anderson; Spencer & Julie, Willow; Selena & Nicholas), David and Melissa Wikkerink (Christian, Caitlin & Grant, Bodie, Troy; Nathan), and Glen and Carla Wikkerink (Micayla, Ezra). The youngest of eight children, he is survived by Ina DenOuden. Brother-in-law to Henny and Hans Knegt, Ina Vanderploeg, and Janet and Fred Hagen. A much loved uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place at the Mountainview CRC (290 Main St E, Grimsby) on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Service of thanksgiving and remembrance will take place at Mountainview CRC on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Eric Groot-Nibbelink leading the service. A private interment will take place prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the McNally House Hospice.
