Obituary of Sharon Evelyn Klassen
KLASSEN, Sharon Evelyn
Passed away peacefully, with family by her side, after a brief illness on Tuesday January 31, 2023 at WLMH in her 83rd year. Beloved wife of the late Menno “Fish” (2002). Cherished mother of Leanne Klassen (Mike) and Ken Klassen (Paula). Fiercely proud Grammie to Jacob (Jaime) and Nicholas. Sister-at-heart to Carolyn. Devoted friend to Sharon, Margie, Shirley, Bev (2018), and many, many more.
Born in St. Catharines, she was the only child of Harry and Harriet Badgley. She started her career as a Teacher, then left teaching to focus on raising her children and working for Canada Post. She retired in 1989 to enjoy traveling with Fish and spending time with friends and family. She endured many health challenges over the years, but always faced them with grace, courage and impeccable strength.
She enjoyed tending to her beautiful gardens, doing crossword puzzles, going to plays, collecting, watching Coronation Street, and always finding a bargain! Her generosity and concern for others was like no other. She was truly a special person who will be missed terribly.
Special thanks to Kelly, the Nephrology and Palliative staff at St Joseph’s Hospital, and the wonderful nurses of WLMH.
There will be visitation at the Tallman Funeral Homes in Vineland (3277 King St) on Thursday February 9, 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm with a memorial celebration on Friday February 10, 10:00am. Cremation has taken place.
Memorial donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated if desired.
