Gerald “Bruce” Selby

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald "Bruce" Selby on Thursday February 9^th 2023 at the age of 90 years old. Beloved Husband for 55 years to the late Sharon Jean Selby who passed away in 2016. Cherished father of Gerry (Barb), Joni, and Jessalynn (Stephen).  Proud grandfather of Vanessa, Spencer, and Avery.  Bruce is also lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews from across Canada.   

Bruce was born in Beamsville, the youngest of 6 children.   After a few years working in the Royal Canadian Air Force in Alberta and Saskatchewan, Bruce and Sharon moved back to Beamsville to raise their family.   Life was a lot of work but also a lot of fun with the big swimming pool in the backyard, trips to Florida, and playing/coaching lots of sports.

As the family got older, Bruce and Sharon moved around a bit with time in Burlington, Winona, Brechin, Oshawa, and Niagara Falls.   Dad moved into Garrison Place in Fort Erie last year as he was starting to need more help on a day-to-day basis.   Special thanks to Sarah and all of the team at Garrison Place for making his time there so wonderful.  Who would have thought at 90 years old – Dad would become a Tic Toc Star!

Throughout his life, Dad believed in Family, Friends and having Fun.  He filled all of our lives with humour, the love of music, and the joy of playing a good game of baseball, golf or cards with friends and family.   While everyone who knew him are sad that he is no longer with us – we are all so blessed to have had so many wonderful years with him.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday February 17th at Tallman Funeral Home at 3277 King Street in Vineland.  Visitation will take place at 3pm and a Service will be at 4pm.
