Obituary of Frank Mawrovic

Frank Mawrovic passed peacefully in his sleep February 15, 2023 at the age of 94 in Beamsville, Ontario.

He was born in Yugoslavia in the village of Bosljiva Loka. At 16 he was drafted into the Partisans where he served as a wireless radio operator. In July of 1953 he immigrated to Canada where he met and married the love of his life, Minnie Harnett, on July 1, 1955 in Strathroy. They were happily married for over 50 years until her death, January 2006. He worked in London Ontario as a tool and die maker, machinist millwright until he retired at age 65. An avid bowler into his 89^th year, competitive euchre player and an unrepentant Scrabble cheat who was proud to be able to kayak in his 80’s.

Loving father (Ata) to Kathleen (Bob, deceased) Johnson and Anna (Roy) Orosz. Proud grandfather of Brad (Karolina) Johnson, Kyle (Kristina) Johnson, Brittany (Wayne) Wright, Karl (Erika) Orosz, Mark (Alicia) Orosz and Rachel (Justin) Coburn. Even prouder great-grandfather to Aria Orosz, Declan Wright, Jack Johnson, Marcie Orosz, Callen Wright, Evie Johnson, Kira Johnson and Tristan Frank Orosz.

His love for his family was deeply felt by all of us. In turn, he was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family. We miss you already Ata.

Interment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery, London Ontario in late spring. In remembrance, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
