There are no magic words or wisdom that I have to share that will make your grief disappear but I can share my memories of sweet Lucas that will help his love and dynamic personality live on in our hearts forever. Lucas was a young man filled with a personality that was twice the size of his body. He brought so much joy to my life in the 5 short years I was able to spend with him. Every time I walk into the bathroom I am flooded with memories of Lucas talking me that we had to go to the bathroom together and the two of us singing songs while he was in there. We even made our own version of twinkle twinkle. In our version Lucas bought Miss Jen a a car with lots of colours and lots of lights it would shine so bright. The two of us would giggle and giggle every time we sang that song. And I will never forget the day I had to explain to Lucas why girls can not use the urinal and then I listened to him explain it to mom and dad while my face turned a million shades of red. Not only did Lucas teach me to find the joy in every day moments and to make time for fun but he encouraged me to have fun and be silly. Lucas also loved to tease me about my terrible Lego building skills and remind me that I need to take my time when working on big puzzles. “ Miss Jen you can’t just push it in. You have to make sure it fits” he would tell me while working on his newest 500 piece creation. And the discussions we had for hours about cars. I was always amazed when Lucas would teach me a new fact about a car and he was always surprised that I never knew the answers to his car questions but he was always happy to use my phone to search google and teach me about the Tesla. Every day at snack time I miss his voice saying Miss Jen what is in your lunch today? Do you think I can try that. And happily I would share. He always gobbled down my golden kiwi before I did and laughed because I was too slow. Lucas was an amazing young man who will forever hold a very special place in my heart. Thank you for all the moment we shared.
