Obituary of Penelope Jane Harder

Penny (Penelope Jane) Harder, nee Vanecko, passed away on April 21, 2023, at the Juravinski Cancer Hospital at the age of 75 following cancer diagnosis a few weeks before.

She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Ilona Vanecko.

Penny will be deeply missed by her husband Robert and son Stephen, her sister Carol Vanecko and twin brother Andrew (Kathy), and nephew Joseph.

Earlier in life, she worked at Brock University and Ontario Paper.

Penny was kind and caring, a talented artist, accomplished cook, and avid gardener. Hosting dinners and having friends gathered around the kitchen island or on the patio was incredibly special to her. While preparing for these times, the music of Luciano Pavarotti and Andrea Bocelli typically inspired her.

She was part of Northend Church, St. Catharines.

A recent message from a friend said it best, “Penny was a beautiful person inside and out, and I will miss her.”

A visitation will be at Tallman Funeral Home, 3277 King Street, Vineland, ON, Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
