In Loving Memory of Marjorie Hagerman

Marjorie Dora Hagerman, a cherished wife of Robert Hagerman (2020) devoted mother of four, grandmother to nine, great grandmother to two and beloved member of her community, passed away on May 26, 2023, in her 87th year. Marjorie's departure leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of all who knew her. She will be forever remembered for her indomitable spirit, vibrant personality, and her unwavering commitment to her loved ones.

Born July 5, 1936, and raised in the small communities of Vanessa and Scotland.  The only child of Oscar H and Edith Gibson, nee Kitchen.  Marjorie's love for the arts was evident from an early age. As a founding member of an arts guild, she dedicated her time and talent to nurturing the creative spirit within her community. Marjorie's needlepoint and porcelain dolls were a testament to her meticulous craftsmanship and artistic vision. Her creations brought joy to many, and her legacy as an accomplished artisan will be treasured for years.

Marjorie's love for music resonated deep within her soul. She found solace and fulfillment in singing at her local church, where her melodious voice uplifted the spirits of those around her. Whether she was belting out hymns or swaying to the rhythm of big band music, or enjoying Supertramp or Meatloaf, Marjorie's passion for music was infectious and brought people together.

Beyond her artistic endeavours, Marjorie found great joy in the great outdoors. The cottage on Georgian Bay held a special place in her heart, where she revelled in the tranquillity of boating on the open waters and embraced the serenity of gardening. Summers were marked by exhilarating hours spent on the sea doo while winters brought laughter and excitement as she sped through snow-covered landscapes on her snowmobile. Marjorie's zest for life was truly remarkable, as she embraced every season with equal enthusiasm.

Marjorie and her beloved husband, Bob, shared an insatiable wanderlust and embarked on countless adventures around the world. However, it was in their winter years that they discovered a second home in Arizona. This desert oasis became a place of solace and warmth for them, where they forged lifelong friendships and explored the captivating surroundings. The memories they created together in Arizona will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have shared in their joy.

Marjorie Hagerman was a remarkable woman, a loving wife for 65 years, a devoted mother, and a dear friend to many. Her vibrant presence and infectious laughter will be deeply missed. While we mourn her loss, let us also celebrate the incredible life she lived, the love she shared, and the indelible impact she made on all of our lives.

Marjorie will be dearly missed by her four children, Don & Mary Ellen, Kathy & Gary Stevenson (2020), David & Alex, Karen & Ed Cheroske who will forever be grateful for her unconditional love, guidance, and unwavering support.  She leaves behind a legacy of passion and dedication as a grandmother to Daniel & Nikole Hagerman, Holly Hagerman & Garrett, Megan Hagerman & Phil, Jessica Stevenson, Norbert & son Ethan, Blaine Stevenson, Kendra Hagerman, Erin & daughter Rue, Kayleigh Hagerman & Kevin, Jason Cheroske and Sarah Lynn Cheroske, her adoring grandchildren.  Also daughters-in-law Heather Kushmir & Sherry Hagerman. Her memory will forever remain etched in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she find eternal peace in the loving embrace of her heavenly home.

Thank you to the professional staff and medical team of the St. Catharines Hospital and everyone at Chartwell Orchards Retirement Residence in Vineland for their wonderful care, friendships and kindness.

A private cremation has taken place as per Marjorie's wishes. A graveside funeral service will be held on June 12th at 1 pm at the Vanessa Cemetery, where Marjorie and her beloved Bob will find eternal rest. Following the service, a lunch will be held at the Scotland United Church, the very same place where Bob and Marjorie exchanged vows and began their beautiful journey together.

In remembrance of Marjorie's life, her family kindly requests that donations be made to the Lincoln Museum & Cultural Centre in her honour. Marjorie's warm smile, her artistic talents, and her unwavering love for her family and community will forever be etched in our hearts. She leaves a profound legacy that will continue to inspire future generations.
